Why can’t i come into their enclosure if i am wearing open toe shoes or sandals?

We absolutely can not allow anyone in the enclosure without suitable footwear. In the enclosure there are lots of terrapins walking around freely and they may decide to try and have a bite of your foot when walking past. You also have a higher risk of tripped and falling when wearing incorrect footwear.
