Me and My partner have had them in our lives for 9 years and we felt as though they needed more out of life. We miss them dearly but we want them to have a fuller and happier life socialising with others . When I rung and spoke to Alex and his daughter they were amazing. They travelled over 2hrs to come and see our little dude's and to talk to us. They was so friendly and it felt as though we'd known them for years. Alex was amazing, with his diagnoses on things. He found shell rot. Ive had her twelve years,but 4 weeks ago her pump broke. So i was changing her water everyday.Found out that was not good,due to water quality.i saw the shell rot starting. Thanks Alex. I cried all the way home because i m going to miss her. I know she s in good hands though. Brill set up , ducks and everything around the pond. Sadly had to take our yellow bellied slider, but my mind was put at ease as soon as I saw where she would be living. Truly fab place and fab people that are dedicated to the animals welfare. I had to make the decision to rehome my turtles as I felt that I wasn’t doing the best for their needs. I contacted South Yorkshire Turtle Sanctuary and thankfully they were happy to help. When I arrived at the sanctuary the family were happy to show me around and show me where the turtles would be living. It made me so happy to see the space they had and made me realise I had definitely done the right thing for them. The family that run the sanctuary are great and very dedicated in what they do. Our Terrapin had outgrown his tank. After a lot of thought {and heartache} we looked at the possibility of a Terrapin sanctuary. We thankfully found this lovely family run sanctuary. We were treated with kindness and we loved the look of what would be Mikeys new home. We travelled from London and was so happy to see Mikey stretch his legs {and discover he was actually a she!] Mikey was at home straight away. Thank you for all your help and kindness. Due to a change in circumstances we had to find a new home for Bonnie and Clyde our yellow belly turtles. Fantastic set up, its clear that all animals in the rescue are well cared for and have everything they need. Lovely people. Know what they are talking about. Took our 2 tortoises as we no longer had the space for them. Gave us a tour of their rescue and gave us all of the information and reassurance we needed.
