Why can’t i enter the tortoise enclosure if i am wearing open toe shoes or sandals/

In the tortoise enclosure the tortoises have free roam so they will be running around your feet and they may feel the need to bite you. So we can not allow anyone wearing unsuitable footwear in the enclosure for your own safety.
